2017 Willard-Wide Garage Sale

June 3, 2017

The 2017 Willard City-Wide Garage Sale is here! We’ve had a huge response from participants which will make for a great day! Below you will find a list of addresses shared with the Chamber of residents and businesses holding sales. There will be more than just listed as there will be last minute additions.

Garage Salers: Local charities have been made aware of this event and will be ready to pick up left over items from your garage sale. You just need to call them for pick up and they’ll take care of it. Not all pick-up, so double check the charity you choose to donate to.

christmas 2016

Christmas at the Chamber

As with so many homes and businesses in the area, the Chamber has been getting into the holiday spirit! It all started with the Lighting of the Frisco Trail on November 19th. The City had to make some changes to this event to handle the numbers. We heard a lot of great comments on these changes and look forward to an even bigger event next year.

The Chamber sponsored a Bonfire event with s’mores and hot dogs. We had a pretty good turn out and was able to raise money for our Scholarship fund (proceeds went to two $500 scholarship awards to Willard graduates).

On December 2nd, we held our Membership Christmas Party. We had a great time and our Silent Auction raised more money for our Scholarship fund.

Thank you to everyone who came out to both events and we looking forward to seeing you at more events in 2017!

Flag Planting 2016

2016 Flag Planting in Honor of 9/11

Sunday, September 11, 2016 marked the 15th anniversary since terrorists attacked our country and left so many hurting hearts. In Willard, we honor the memory of those loved one’s by place flags on the front lawns of every Willard home, business, and church.

On September 10, 2016, over 60 community volunteers set out to place over 2500 flags throughout Willard.  Willard Middle School even created an “Action Team” made up of middle schoolers and their parents to represent leadership within their school.

Thank you to so many volunteers who came out to make this a smooth operation! Also thank you to KY3 for highlighting this touching event Saturday evening.

Willard Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jen Welton

New Executive Director – Jen Welton

The Willard Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce it’s new Executive Director, Jen Welton. Jen is the Chamber’s first Executive Director.

Jen comes to the Chamber with six years of experience as a business owner of Boundless Creative. She has also held various leadership roles within the Junior League of Springfield. Currently she serves as the Vice President of Communications.

Matt Kelley, President of the Board of Directors, states, “Over the past few years we have experienced significant growth for Willard and many of our area businesses.  With the growth in Willard, the Chamber Board of Directors felt it was necessary to add an Executive Director to help meet the needs of our local businesses. We were very fortunate to find such a quality, experienced business owner that has the background we were looking for. Jen Welton accepted the position and has already been a tremendous asset to our Chamber.”

I couldn’t be more excited to be part of such a remarkable, growing community and motivated Chamber,” says Jen Welton.
